HISTORY

Jean-François Laporte opened his first boutique on the rue de Grenelle, in Paris, in 1979.

For the first time in several decades, a fragrance brand was born that was not the periphery business of a fashion label or designer, but a new niche brand in its own right.

With this in mind, Jean-François Laporte opened his first retail store to offer his customers the most in depth and authentic experience possible, translating fragrance into a brand universe. Until then, only the larger historical brands had been able to do so, holding the monopoly for fragrance retail.

A new design

Faithful to the visionary spirit of Jean Laporte, L'Artisan Parfumeur boutiques adopt a contemporary approach. The nature is at the heart of an elegant and refined space.

Desirous of reflecting our heritage in a contemporary way, the architecture of the shops is inspired by the historical workshop where Jean Laporte created his first fragrances.

In the shop we find high-quality materials such as marble, copper and oak. This choice reflects the desire to promote craftsmanship.

A SENSORIAL JOURNEY THROUGH THE BOUTIQUES

The miniature gardens within each boutique play host to a wide variety of botanicals, left to do what nature does best; flourish.

The gardens are a living reminder of what L'Artisan Parfumeur is about, and exist in our stores to pay homage to our past, present and future, as well as to invite the customers to discover, re-ignite and experience L'Artisan Parfumeur's passion for nature.

Nature is where the entire foundation of L'Artisan Parfumeur began, the synergies of ingredients and natural creation run through the veins of the brand.

The fragrances are not an attempt to replicate what nature can do, but are an abstract interpretation of how our perfumers feel when they experience the scents of nature and these raw materials.
